And God Created The Woman | NARSissit

Sunday, 9 August 2015

So I decided to have a little splurge last month and treat myself to the 'And God Created The Woman' eyeshadow palette from NARS Cosmetics (you can see my quick haul post here where I first mentioned it). This product retails for £35.00 and includes 6 neutral shadows, a mini Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base and a travel size Wide Contour Brush (43). Be warned, this palette is small! I was so surprised and slightly disappointed (cried when I realised a Naked palette was £4.00 more than this) when I unwrapped the packaging to discover a palette that is comparable in size to their blushes, just a tad longer. I'm not a massive eyeshadow wearer so this palette should last me a good ol' time though - I hope. All that aside, I fell in love with the shades and I knew this would be my new go-to for when I want a pretty smokey eye.

There are loads of pros to this palette; for one it is small enough to stick in your makeup bag for travelling and if you're anything like me and get stuck with what shadows work well together, well you only get a choice of 6 and each combination I've tried works and it works excellently! You can pair 2 shades for a subtle look, or go bold and layer all 6. There are so many beautiful combinations to this.

I'd always been a fan of NARS blushes and bronzer - particularly 'Laguna' and 'Orgasm' as I found them to be pigmented but blendable and very creamy textures. This palette didn't fall far from them, either. All 6 shades, bar one I'd say are really pigmented, creamy and a dream to blend. The shimmery shades are by far my favourite, they're so pigmented on their own but spraying your brush with Fix+ before applying these gives them even more vibrancy. They're truly stunning.

The brush that comes with the palette is quite a large eyeshadow brush and I would probably prefer to use it for concealer and the eyeshadow base I am yet to try as my main focus was the palette itself.

I think if you can get over the price, then this palette is a winner in my eyes. But if you have more of a budget, there are plenty of drugstore alternatives like Make-Up Geek single eyeshadows. Maybe put this on your Christmas list providing it isn't limited edition.

Let me know what you think of this palette in the comments below. Have you tried it?
