Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit | Review

Monday, 7 July 2014
Hi my loves.. So literally since I saw it on Instagram or YouTube (I forgot which, most likely both) I NEEDED, and when I say 'needed'... I needed the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. Like umm who wouldn't? You'd be silly not to. It's got the perfect shades to create and define those cheekbones. Want to look like a Victoria's Secret Model? Get this.

(Left to Right) - Vanilla, Banana, Sand, Java, Fawn, Havana

Since hearing about this I searched high and low to try and get it (like I said I needed it).. I could not find it anywhere! Until I came across Cult Beauty (link here) - They didn't have it in stock but I signed up to be one of the first people to know when it came in. That was last week now. I ordered it straight away before it became out of stock and I received it within 2 days of purchasing. I was so impressed (round of applause for Cult Beauty - woo!). I couldn't wait to try it.

I was a little surprised at how small the palette was? I don't know but I did have a vision that it would be similar size to the MAC refill palettes you can get. It is literally tiny in comparison. Little disappointing but none the less it's a brilliant product and I can not sing my praises higher. The consistency of the powders is impeccable - smooth to apply, non-cakey, finely milled, silky and just all round amazing. I used the plastic film that protects the powders to create a straight line for my contour and it created such a beautiful shadow.. my cheekbones never looked so good.

As you can see you get 6 refillable powders that you can use to contour and highlight your features for perfect definition. Apparently you can purchase these refills on www.anastasia.net, however I'm unsure as to whether they ship to the UK, so fingers crossed Cult Beauty will stock them eventually. The shades range from light to dark and I use the 'Banana' shade for setting my under-eye concealer because the yellow counteracts the dark circles under your eyes, the 'Vanilla' shade to highlight and a mixture of 'Java' and 'Fawn' to contour. 'Fawn' being the cool-toned bronzer to create that sculpted look without looking orange. Only 'Sand' has some shimmer to it, the rest are creamy matte shades that give a matte/satin finish when applied.

Vanilla: a pink toned matte
Banana: a yellow based matte
Sand: a pale nude shimmer
Java: a warm-neutral brown matte
Fawn: a cool-neutral brown matte
Havana: a warm red based brown matte

Have you tried the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit yet? What are your thoughts on this product?
